Nancy Lynn Montano was born on April 14th, 1986 at 10:37 am. She weighed 6 lbs 8 oz and was 21 1/2
inches long (all legs....smile!) The Lord blessed me with 4 beautiful and vibrant children, yet
Nancy was the special one. She was born with development disabilities, although if you asked her,
she would tell you that she just had different abilities than others. She was never taught to quit
or that she was less than anyone else. This is something she carried with her all through her life
and even as she entered the latter stages of her illness. She fought like it was her last fight her
whole life and always gave us, her family, 150% of whatever she was trying to accomplish.

Her accomplishments included graduating Woodbridge High School. class of 2005, where her achievement
made her so very proud (she had the loudest cheering section in the place!). She went on the get her
first and only "real job" at Cardinal Montesorri School where she was a teachers assistant. She
worked there until March 2nd, 2009. That was her last day at work before getting the heartbreaking
news that her kidneys had failed and she would need a transplant, Still she smiled and talked about
what a pain dialysis was. She meet others who also suffered from the same ailment and made friends.

Her illness progressed and I was able to witness what a "gift" God had blessed me with. She was
alive in a different way. She was aware of all that was happening to her but she never cried. I
cried more than her. On May 21st, her doctors at Georgetown informed me that her condition had
worsened and she would also need a liver tansplant within 48 hours. I went to her bedside and had
the horrible task of letting her know the "truth". She looked at me and told me not to worry that
everything would be OK. Then she asked me how I felt. She told me that she was worried about "me".
That was my beautiful resilent child.......she never worried about herself as much as she did about
the rest of her family. I asked her if she was afraid, and she answered "No". She was preparing me
while I thought the whole time I was preparing her.....how ironic!

My daughter and my entire family fought a brave and valiant battle. On May 27th, 2009 at 3:30 pm -
Our Lord and Saviour came to her bedside to reclaim his child.

Nancy lived in Woodbridge, Virginia.....(Dale City).

Visitation: 2-4 & 6-8 PM Sunday, May 31, 2009 Mountecastle Funeral Home. Interment is private.

She is survived by her mother, Nancy Guanill, and her father, Cesar R. Montano, as well as 3
brothers, Ralphie (Jeanette), Steven( Marisa) and Edwin. She had one sister, Lisa (Joey). Her
nephews: Nathaniel, Xavier, Peyton, Johnny, and Zachariah. Her nieces : Talia, Nina and Alyssa.
Special 'little girl' to Barry Thomas.

Her family wishes to extend their thanks for all the prayers and condolences received.

Donations to the American Kidney Foundation in her name are appreciated.

A poem for Nancy;

God saw you getting tired
and a cure was not to be
so he put his arms around you
and whispered,
"Come to Me"

With tearful eyes we watched you
and saw you pass away
and although we love you dearly
we could not make you stay.

A Golden heart stopped beating
hard working hands at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove us
he only takes the best....
